Frequently asked questions

  1. What is Unilever's Future Leaders' League (UFLL)?

UFLL is a local and global business competition, giving you the opportunity to experience what Unilever is really about: our brands, our culture, and our people. You'll get the chance to work with Unilever leaders, on a real business scenario, and get a unique development experience along the way.

  2. Can I take part in the competition even if I am graduating in the current academic year?

Yes, the condition for joining is the current student status at the time of registration.

  3. What are the stages of the competition?

    • The first stage is a competition task - together with your team, you solve the task and fill out the application.
    • In the second stage, 5 final teams will receive a business case to be solved within a week. The solution will be presented to the jury.
    • Selected winners will take part in the global finals where they will challenge themselves in a global business scenario.
  4. What are the criteria?

Our jury, experienced managers, will evaluate the submitted solutions according to business criteria, taking into account the understanding of our industry, company, and the brand to which the challenge relates.

  5. What are the prizes in the competition?

The UFLL winners will take part in the Global Finals, where they will meet Unilever's top leaders and compete for the UFLL Grand Prize. In addition, they will receive content support in the form of mentoring and networking with leaders from the organization. The winners will also receive attractive prizes - iPhone 15, and the other finalists will receive Unilever products.

  6. Will my participation in the competition have any consequences in terms of employment opportunities at Unilever?

UFLL is a platform for networking and we would like to stay in touch with talents interested in a career at Unilever. Participating in UFLL is a good way to gain insight into the company, but it is not a substitute for any official application process. Whereas, in the event that you are not selected by UFLL, you can still apply for a position at Unilever.

  7. What happens if I can't make it to the Local Round or Global Finals?

Candidates must appear in person for the local round and Global Finals. Participants who are unable to attend any of the finals will not qualify for the next stages.

  8. What are the tasks during UFLL?

At Unilever Future Leaders’ League you will receive a real business case (both in local round and before Global Finals) and you will be asked to prepare a presentation about our business. Participants from all fields of study are welcome to join, but it’s crucial that you have a basic understanding of business areas (e.g., marketing, sales, finance, supply chain, business strategy) when working on your business case.

  9. What time do we need to prepare for different stages of the competition?

Since you will be faced with business cases during the local round and Global Finals, you will need time to prepare for your presentation. For the local round your team will have 1 week to prepare the case and for the global finals you will have one month to prepare yourself for the presentation.

  10. In what language should the task solution be submitted?

The submitted solution to the competition task must be in English. Similarly, during the final, participants present their presentation in English.
